Item Description
An empty canvas holds infinite possibilities, says Glimmervoid's flavor text, and for an artifact deck the promise is literal. Glimmervoid taps for one mana of any color. The catch: at the beginning of each end step, if you control no artifacts, you sacrifice it. As long as you keep even one artifact around, it is a five-color land that enters untapped and never costs you life.
Artifact strategies have made the most of that bargain since Mirrodin, when the card first appeared alongside the plane's artifact lands. In Commander it is an easy include for decks packed with mana rocks, equipment, treasures or artifact creatures, letting you splash an off-color spell or hold up any color of mana without warping your land base. The risk is real but manageable: protect your artifacts, and the Glimmervoid pays you back every turn.
This is the Double Masters printing from 2020, collector number 319, illustrated by Lars Grant-West, in foil. Double Masters was the reprint set built around two rares in every booster, and a foil Glimmervoid from it is a shiny upgrade for any artifact-themed deck.
