Magic: The Gathering single: Gifts Ungiven, from Masterpiece Series: Double Masters 2022 Borderless. Our grade: Near Mint. Pictured: this printing of the card. Every card ships triple-sleeved — a soft sleeve, a deck sleeve and a rigid top loader.
Item Description
Gifts Ungiven hands your opponent a choice and still comes out ahead. The four-mana blue instant searches your library for up to four cards with different names and reveals them; your opponent chooses two to put into your graveyard, and the rest go to your hand.
The art is in building the pile. Pick four cards where every split works for you, or lean on graveyard recursion so the two cards your opponent denies you are just as useful in the graveyard as in hand. Reanimation, flashback and recursion decks treat it as a tutor for two specific pieces, and because it is an instant you can fire it off at the end of an opponent's turn. There is a classic trick, too: search for only two cards, and both go straight to the graveyard, ready for your reanimation or recursion plan.
This is the Double Masters 2022 borderless printing, collector number 347, illustrated by David O'Connor, in foil. The borderless frame gives O'Connor's artwork the whole card, a striking upgrade for a spell that has fueled blue graveyard decks since Champions of Kamigawa.
