Item Description

Twelve mana for a 12/12 sounds absurd until you see how fast Ghalta, Primal Hunger actually hits the table. The green legendary Elder Dinosaur costs X less to cast, where X is the total power of creatures you control, and it has trample so all that size reaches its target.

Get a few big creatures down and Ghalta can arrive for just its two green mana, turning a solid board into an overwhelming one in a single play. It is a natural payoff for big-creature green decks and Dinosaur tribal, and in Commander it rewards the simple, joyful plan of making the largest thing anyone has seen all game. First printed in Rivals of Ixalan, it has been a go-to finisher for stompy decks ever since.

This is the Secret Lair Drop printing, collector number 1124, from the Just Add Milk drop, a borderless, full-art card illustrated by Mike Burns, in foil. Just Add Milk reimagined Ghalta, Ulamog and Etali as mascots for kids' breakfast cereals, with mana costs styled like nutrition labels, so this Ghalta looks less like a jungle predator and more like the hungriest thing on the Saturday-morning shelf. It is a funny, instantly recognizable version for a stompy deck that never takes itself too seriously.
