Item Description

Gerrard's Hourglass Pendant costs a single mana and solves two very different problems. The colorless legendary artifact has flash, and while it is on the battlefield any player who would begin an extra turn skips that turn instead.

That first ability shuts down extra-turn strategies on the spot, a real concern at Commander tables. The second is the showstopper: pay four, tap and exile the Pendant to return to the battlefield tapped every artifact, creature, enchantment and land card put into your graveyard from the battlefield this turn. Cast your own board wipe, crack the Pendant afterward, and only your side of the table comes back. It can rescue your board after an opponent's sweeper too, which makes it a clever fit for artifact, enchantment and sacrifice-themed decks.

This is the Dominaria United Commander extended-art printing, collector number 93, illustrated by Sam Burley, in non-foil. Named for Gerrard Capashen, hero of the Weatherlight saga, it carries a bit of classic Dominaria history, and the extended frame gives Burley's artwork more room than the standard version.
