Item Description
Forbidden Orchard offers a deal that most multicolor mana bases can't refuse: it taps for any color, enters untapped, and asks for no life. The catch is that every time you tap it for mana, an opponent you choose creates a 1/1 colorless Spirit token. In a two-player game that is a real cost. In Commander, where you pick the recipient each time and a stray 1/1 rarely changes the outcome, it is a price plenty of deck builders happily pay for perfect fixing.
The drawback can even become an upside. Group-hug and political decks hand out the Spirits as small favors to buy goodwill, and effects that reward any creature dying count those tokens too. First printed in Champions of Kamigawa, the land has stayed in multicolor decks through several reprints because so few rainbow lands come with no life payment and no tapped entry.
This is the Double Masters 2022 borderless printing, collector number 405, illustrated by Drew Tucker, in non-foil. The borderless treatment lets the painting run to the edges of the card, giving a utility land the presence of a showpiece.
