Item Description
Folk Hero gives a white tribal deck the card draw it is always hungry for. This two-mana legendary Background gives each commander creature you own the ability: whenever you cast a spell that shares a creature type with this creature, draw a card, once each turn. If your commander is a Human, an Elf or a Dwarf and your deck is full of them, that is a card every turn cycle.
Backgrounds arrived with Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur's Gate, letting legendary creatures with Choose a Background pair with one as a second commander. Folk Hero shines there, but it also works from the 99: it grants the ability to any commander creature you own, whether or not that commander can choose a Background. For tribal decks led by a white commander, it is a simple, steady draw engine in a color that rarely gets one.
This is the Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur's Gate extended-art printing, collector number 608, a mythic illustrated by Kai Carpenter, offered here in non-foil. The extended-art frame lets Carpenter's illustration run right to the card's edges, a fitting showcase for a Background about the hometown hero whose legend travels ahead of them.
