Item Description
Islandwalk is about as old-school as evasion gets, and Fishliver Oil hands it to any creature for just two mana. Enchant one of your attackers and, as long as the defending player controls an Island, nothing they have can block it. Against a blue opponent that turns a modest creature into a dependable clock, and at a Commander table crowded with Islands it can make a big threat very difficult to stop.
The card first surfaced in Arabian Nights in 1993, and Anson Maddocks' murky, slightly strange illustration carries all the flavor of Magic's earliest expansions. This is the Chronicles printing, collector number 20, a common offered here in non-foil, from the 1995 set that brought cards from Arabian Nights, Antiquities, Legends and The Dark back into circulation.
It is a charming pickup for a Chronicles set run, a Merfolk or mono-blue build that wants one more sneaky angle of attack, or a binder of cards that look and play the way Magic did in its first couple of years.
