Item Description

Before the gunblades, the summons and the sorceress, there were two rivals on a training field. The FINAL FANTASY Scene Box (Children of Fate) brings that rivalry to Magic: The Gathering, built around Squall and Seifer's duel from FINAL FANTASY VIII, the clash that leaves the two Balamb Garden cadets with matching scars and sets the tone for one of the series' most memorable stories.

Scene Boxes are designed for display as much as play. Wizards of the Coast built this one around six traditional foil borderless scene cards whose artwork combines into a single panorama of the duel, joined by six art-only scene cards, three Play Boosters and a paper display easel for showing the scene off. Line the six cards up side by side and the moment unfolds across the whole row.

The box comes from Magic's FINAL FANTASY set, the 2025 Universes Beyond release that brought heroes, villains and moments from across the series into the game. For anyone who grew up with Squall's story, it is a ready-made shelf piece celebrating the rivalry at the heart of Balamb Garden.
