Item Description
Tidus was a blitzball star before he was dragged into Spira, so it makes sense that his Commander deck is all about teamwork, momentum and well-timed passes. Counter Blitz is the Final Fantasy X deck from Magic: The Gathering's Final Fantasy Commander line, and it plays like a squad of guardians working in perfect sync.
The deck puts counters on your creatures, then moves, multiplies and cashes them in. Tidus, Yuna's Guardian leads in green, white and blue, drawing a card and proliferating whenever a creature carrying counters connects with an opponent, so every successful attack makes the next one stronger. Yuna, Grand Summoner offers a second option at the helm, and the supporting cast reads like a pilgrimage roster: Wakka, Rikku, Lord Jyscal Guado, Tromell, and even Sin itself, with summons such as Yojimbo and Ixion arriving as Saga creatures.
Despite the name, this is not a counterspell deck. It is a proactive, snowballing strategy that rewards building a board and then pressing your advantage, with plenty of familiar Commander favorites like Walking Ballista and Hardened Scales that fit the counters theme naturally.
For anyone who spent hours on Yuna's pilgrimage, hearing the Hymn of the Fayth in their head, it is a joy to see Spira's heroes and villains rendered as Magic cards. Play it straight out of the box, tune it into a counters powerhouse, or keep it sealed as a piece of the crossover Final Fantasy fans waited decades for.
