Item Description
Farseek looks like a modest two-mana ramp spell until you read the fine print. It searches your library for a card with the Plains, Island, Swamp or Mountain type and puts it onto the battlefield tapped, and that includes nonbasic lands carrying those types. Shocklands, original dual lands and the Triomes all qualify, so a single green spell can fetch a land that taps for two or even three colors.
That is why it ranks among the most played green ramp spells in Commander, especially in three- to five-color decks where fixing matters as much as acceleration. It can't find a Forest, a deliberate limit that keeps it honest, but green decks rarely struggle for green mana anyway. Landfall decks get an extra trigger from it, and in a pinch it simply grabs a basic Mountain or Island to support a splash.
This is the Time Spiral Remastered printing, collector number 363, illustrated by Martina Pilcerova, in non-foil. Farseek first appeared in Ravnica: City of Guilds in 2005, and this version comes from Time Spiral Remastered's timeshifted bonus sheet, which presented classic cards in the old-school retro frame. Its Ravnica flavor text, a traveler marveling that the city never seems to end, is a nice touch for players who remember that block.
