Complete in box: the cartridge, the manual and the box, all original; anything beyond that is included only if you can see it in the photos. Look over the photos for condition, packaging and details. Every cartridge's shell, label and board are checked for authenticity when it comes into the store, and it's tested before it's listed. It ships in a collector's bag or a hard plastic case.

Item Description

“Survey says!” Few phrases in television history are as instantly recognizable, and Family Feud on the NES brings the whole ritual home: two families of five, a board full of hidden answers, and the nagging question of what a hundred ordinary people said when asked something completely ordinary.

The game follows the show’s format. You choose a family to represent and go head to head with a rival clan, trying to name the most popular answers to each survey question and bank points for your side. The family with the most points at the end walks away with the prize money. There are no reflexes to master and no patterns to memorize here; the whole challenge is reading the mind of the average survey taker, which is exactly why it is so easy to get hooked on one more question.

It comes alive with a second player. Plug in another controller and the feud gets personal, with siblings, parents and roommates each running a family and arguing over whether an answer was obvious or absurd. It is the rare NES cartridge that works as well for the people watching from the couch as for the people holding the controllers, since everyone in the room has an opinion on what the survey said.

GameTek built much of its business on bringing TV game shows to home consoles, with NES versions of Jeopardy!, Wheel of Fortune and Double Dare among them, and Family Feud fit right into that lineup before following the company onto 16-bit systems. Released while Ray Combs was hosting the show, it captures the format at the height of its early-’90s run and makes a fun, unpretentious companion to those other game-show carts.
