Item Description
Four damage for three mana is a clean, honest deal, and Exquisite Firecraft sweetens it by refusing to be stopped. It deals 4 damage to any target, and with spell mastery, if there are two or more instant and/or sorcery cards in your graveyard, it can't be countered.
That clause gives the card its personality. In spell-heavy red decks the graveyard fills quickly, so by the middle of the game Firecraft becomes a burn spell that slips past counterspells to finish a creature, a planeswalker or a player's last few points of life. It debuted in Magic Origins in 2015, and its flavor text belongs to Chandra: "Chandra's gift set her apart and others aflame."
This is the Time Spiral Remastered printing, collector number 343, illustrated by Chase Stone, in non-foil. It comes from the set's timeshifted bonus sheet, where cards were reprinted in Magic's classic pre-2003 frame, so a modern burn spell gets the old-school border and layout that longtime players recognize instantly. It's a lovely pickup for retro-frame collectors and red mages alike.
