Item Description
In a one-on-one game Exotic Orchard depends on what your opponent is playing, but at a four-player Commander table it is rarely anything less than a land that taps for the color you need. It adds one mana of any color that a land an opponent controls could produce, and with three opponents usually covering most of the color pie between them, it becomes untapped, drawback-free fixing for two-, three-, four- and five-color decks alike. That reliability has carried it near the very top of EDHREC's overall card rankings.
This is the Secret Lair Drop printing from The '90s Binder Experience, collector number 1231, a borderless foil illustrated by Paul Mafayon. As the drop's name suggests, it is a playful nod to the era when a collection lived in binder pages, and the borderless frame lets Mafayon's orchard run right to the edges of the card. The short flavor text, "Where the rainbow gets its colors and the sun finds its shine," suits a land whose whole job is coaxing every color out of the table.
Upgrading the cards you play every single game is the most satisfying kind of bling, and a foil Orchard turns a humble utility land into a small showpiece of your mana base.
