Miraidon ex is the futuristic legend from the cover of Pokémon Violet, a sleek, motorcycle-shaped speedster that crackles with electricity, and this ex Battle Deck puts it at the head of a 60-card Lightning deck built to play straight out of the box. It is aimed squarely at new and returning players who would rather learn the Pokémon Trading Card Game by playing it than by building a deck from scratch.

The list is a crash course in how Lightning decks win. Electric Generator digs Lightning Energy off the top of the deck and onto benched Pokémon, Nemona keeps cards flowing, and a supporting cast of Pikachu and Raichu, Voltorb and Electrode, Wattrel and Kilowattrel, plus Cyclizar, gives new players several evolution lines to learn. Get the energy moving early and Miraidon ex can start swinging before an opponent has settled in.

Released in July 2024 alongside a Victini ex counterpart, the deck makes a great first purchase for a family or a friend group: grab one each and you have a ready-made rivalry. Once the basics click, it also doubles as a pile of upgrade parts for a more competitive Lightning build, which is exactly how a lot of players take the next step.
