Item Description
Evacuation is a reset button you can press at instant speed. For five mana, it returns every creature on the battlefield to its owner's hand, yours included. Tokens simply vanish, enchanted creatures leave their Auras behind, and the board that seemed to be winning the game is suddenly empty.
Timing is what makes it so satisfying. Cast it in the middle of an opponent's attack and their whole army goes back to their hand. Cast it at the end of their turn and you untap with the only plans that matter. Decks full of enter-the-battlefield creatures turn the symmetry into an advantage, recasting their own creatures for another round of triggers while opponents rebuild from scratch. It is especially punishing against token strategies. The flavor text from Alexi, zephyr mage, about revealing warriors as so much smoke, fits the spell perfectly.
This is the Commander 2016 printing, collector number 91, illustrated by Franz Vohwinkel, in non-foil. Its appearance in a Commander deck brought this classic blue sweeper to a new generation of multiplayer tables.
