Item Description
Most tutors put a card in your hand. Entomb puts it exactly where a graveyard deck wants it. For one black mana, at instant speed, you search your library for any card, drop it into your graveyard and shuffle. Follow it with a reanimation spell and a huge creature can be on the battlefield by turn two; point it at a card with flashback, or one that returns itself, and you have tutored for it without the card ever touching your hand.
Commander players prize it for the same reason. Graveyard generals such as Meren of Clan Nel Toth or Muldrotha, the Gravetide turn the graveyard into a second hand, and Entomb lets you choose exactly what goes there, often at the end of an opponent's turn so your plan stays hidden until you untap.
This is the Ultimate Masters printing, collector number 94, illustrated by Seb McKinnon, in non-foil. Ultimate Masters arrived in December 2018 with a heavy graveyard theme running through its reprints, so Entomb was right at home there, and McKinnon's haunting, painterly art makes this a handsome way to own a classic enabler.
