Three days. Three players. One night that refuses to end. Elden Ring Nightreign takes the combat, bosses and dark grandeur of FromSoftware's 2022 masterpiece and reshapes them into something completely different: a cooperative survival action game where every expedition is a desperate race against a closing ring of night. Directed by Junya Ishizaki, it is a standalone game rather than an expansion, and it reimagines how an Elden Ring adventure can feel.

Each run drops your team onto Limveld, a reimagined version of Limgrave whose enemies, items and locations shift from expedition to expedition. You have a single in-game day to scour castles, camps, ruins and churches for gear and power before the encroaching night shrinks the map, and each of the first two days ends in a boss fight. Survive, and the third day ends with a showdown against one of the Nightlords, the colossal masters of Limveld. Occasional Shifting Earth events transform the map itself, opening new dangers and richer rewards.

Instead of building a Tarnished, you choose from a cast of Nightfarers, each with a distinct playstyle and abilities: Wylder with his greatsword and grappling hook, the shield-bearing Guardian, the archer Ironeye, the spellcasting Recluse, the katana-wielding Executor and the dagger-dancing Duchess, among others. Movement is quicker than in Elden Ring, with sprinting and wall-scaling built for racing across the map, and between runs the Roundtable Hold serves as your base for preparing the next attempt. It is built for teams of three, with a solo option for those who want to face the night alone.

Familiar bosses from across FromSoftware's history make appearances among Limveld's threats, and each Nightlord is a towering exam that demands real teamwork. Critics gave it generally favorable reviews and it topped sales charts at launch. For players who have finished the Lands Between and want its combat in short, intense bursts with friends, Nightreign is a bold, replayable spin on everything Elden Ring does best.
