Our grade: Near Mint. Pictured: this printing of the card. Every card ships triple-sleeved — a soft sleeve, a deck sleeve and a rigid top loader.
Item Description
Eidolon of the Great Revel turns every cheap spell into a dare. It's a two-mana red enchantment creature, a 2/2 Spirit, and whenever any player casts a spell with mana value 3 or less, it deals 2 damage to that player. That includes you, but in an aggressive red deck built to close the game fast, you're happy to pay the toll while opponents stumble through their early turns.
The design is a race printed on a card. Burn decks embrace it because opponents have to cast cheap spells to keep up, and every interaction costs them life. In multiplayer games it becomes a chaotic table-wide tax on cheap ramp, rituals and cantrips. Its flavor text, “Nothing like a bit of arson to really get the party started,” comes from Xenagos, the Reveler, the satyr of Theros who climbed his way to godhood.
This is the Secret Lair Drop borderless printing, collector number 422, illustrated by Yuko Shimizu, in foil. The borderless frame lets Shimizu's illustration run to the very edges of the card, a striking alternative to the original Journey into Nyx look.
