Item Description

Five-a-side has always been how friends actually play football, and EA Sports FC 25 finally builds a mode around it. Rush is a 5v5 format that uses the same controls and mechanics as the full 11-a-side game, with four friends teaming up and an AI goalkeeper behind them, and it threads through Ultimate Team, Clubs and Kick-Off. Even Manager Career gets a taste, with 5v5 youth tournaments tied to developing your academy prospects.

The other big shift happens on the tactics board. FC IQ rebuilds the game’s tactical foundations using an AI model trained on real-world data, introducing Player Roles that define how each player behaves within a system, and revamped team tactics modeled on real playing styles. The result is football with more variety from match to match, where a pressing side and a patient possession side feel noticeably different to play against.

Career Mode takes a historic step as well: women’s football arrives in Career for the first time, with clubs and players from the top five women’s leagues and parity with the men’s game. Player Career lets you rewrite the stories of past Icons with today’s teams, and the scale is enormous, with more than 19,000 players, over 700 teams, more than 120 stadiums and 30-plus leagues.

Developed by EA Vancouver, this is the second release since EA’s football series dropped the FIFA name in 2023, with Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham on the cover. It captures the 2024-25 season, Bellingham’s Madrid era included, and on the Xbox Series X it is the year the series made small-sided football and women’s careers part of the main event.
