Magic: The Gathering single: E. Honda, Sumo Champion. Our grade: Near Mint. Pictured: this printing of the card. Every card ships triple-sleeved — a soft sleeve, a deck sleeve and a rigid top loader.
Item Description
Up to one hundred target creatures. That line alone tells you this card was built for E. Honda, the Street Fighter II sumo wrestler famous for his Hundred Hand Slap. In the Secret Lair x Street Fighter drop he appears as E. Honda, Sumo Champion, the Universes Beyond name for the Magic card Baldin, Century Herdmaster.
The design plays like a sumo match. During your turn, each creature assigns combat damage equal to its toughness rather than its power, and whenever Honda attacks, up to one hundred target creatures each get +0/+X until end of turn, where X is the number of cards in your hand. Honda himself is a 0/7, so on your turn he hits for 7 before any boost. Walls, defenders and other high-toughness creatures suddenly become attackers, and keeping a healthy hand turns every attack into a team-wide pump. It makes a fun, unusual white commander or a strong engine in a toughness-matters deck alongside cards like Doran, the Siege Tower.
This is the Secret Lair Drop printing, collector number 428, illustrated by Victor Adame Minguez, in foil.
