Years after the outbreak that began in Harran, the city of Villedor is the last great human settlement, and Dying Light 2 Stay Human drops you into it as Aiden Caldwell, a wandering Pilgrim searching for his lost sister. He is infected, he is running out of time, and the only way forward is up: across rooftops, over gaps and through a sprawling, decaying metropolis where every faction has a different idea of how survivors should live.

Techland built the sequel around movement, and it shows. Parkour is fast and fluid, with wall runs, swings, climbs and leaps that make every route through Villedor feel improvised, while a paraglider and grappling hook open up even more ways to travel. Combat is brutal and physical, a mix of improvised weapons, crafted gear and kicks that send enemies flying off ledges. As Aiden grows stronger, Inhibitors increase his health and stamina, letting him climb higher and fight harder.

The day and night cycle is the heart of the experience. By day the streets are dangerous but manageable, while at night the infected pour out of the dark buildings and the Volatiles start to hunt, triggering terrifying chases that can only be escaped by reaching safety under UV light. Night is also when the best loot lies waiting in otherwise dangerous interiors, making every trip after sunset a calculated risk. Choices matter too, as you decide whether to hand key buildings like water towers and power stations to the Survivors or the Peacekeepers, physically reshaping the city in the process.

Rosario Dawson voices Lawan, a fellow runner with her own score to settle, and the campaign was designed so up to four players could share it in co-op. What lingers afterward is the feeling of owning the skyline: by the late game, Aiden glides from tower to tower over a city you helped shape, and the infected streets below become something you choose when to visit. It is a bigger, more vertical and more choice-driven follow-up to the original, and on PS4 it carries the series into its next era.
