Item Description
Poison normally ticks away one damage counter at a time. Drapion LV.X triples it. Its Tri-Poison Poké-Power lets you flip a coin once during your turn before attacking, and on heads the Defending Pokémon you choose is Poisoned and takes three damage counters between turns instead of one. Then comes Sniping Tail: for two Darkness and two Colorless Energy it puts 40 damage on one of your opponent's Benched Pokémon, and the Defending Pokémon cannot retreat during your opponent's next turn.
Put those together and the plan writes itself. Poison the Active Pokémon, pin it in place so it cannot escape to the Bench, and chip at the Bench while the toxin does the heavy lifting. As a Level-Up, it goes on top of your Active Drapion and keeps every attack, Poké-Power and Poké-Body from the level below, so it simply adds options rather than replacing them.
LV.X cards were the showpieces of the Diamond & Pearl and Platinum era, and their distinctive layout still pulls collectors who opened packs in the late 2000s straight back to that time. Drapion, the hulking Sinnoh scorpion that evolves from Skorupi, makes a fittingly menacing subject. This is the Platinum printing, collector number 123/127, a 130 HP Darkness-type Rare Holo LV.X in holofoil, illustrated by Ryo Ueda.
