Anyone who reached the Sinnoh League in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl remembers the moment Cynthia sent out Garchomp. The Champion and her Dragon/Ground partner became the measuring stick for tough final battles, and the pair has stayed a fan favorite ever since.

The Scarlet & Violet era of the Pokémon TCG brought back Trainer's Pokémon, cards that tie a Pokémon to the trainer who raised it, and Cynthia's Garchomp ex became one of the headline faces of that revival, right on the packaging of the Destined Rivals expansion. It is a heavy hitter whose attacks can also help you draw cards, which makes it an exciting card to build around rather than just admire.
