Item Description
Few Trainer cards draw a groan from across the table quite like Crushing Hammer, at least when the coin lands your way. Play this Item, flip a coin, and on heads you discard an Energy from one of your opponent's Pokémon. It is high-risk, high-reward disruption: one lucky flip can push back a big attacker by a full turn, strand a Pokémon in the Active Spot or spoil a carefully planned knockout.
That gamble is part of the fun. Energy-hungry attackers are everywhere in the modern game, and a deck that can strip even one attachment at the right moment gains real tempo in a tight match. Stack a couple of Hammers with other disruption and your opponent can spend several turns rebuilding instead of attacking.
This is the Pitch Black (ME05) printing, number 105/084, numbered beyond the set total as one of the set's Ultra Rare Trainer prints, illustrated by Ayaka Yoshida, in foil. It turns a humble utility Item into a showpiece for a binder or a deck box.
