Item Description
Two mana for an Equipment that can shut off your opponents' spells on your turn is a bargain Commander players rarely pass up. Conqueror's Flail does exactly that: as long as it is attached to a creature, opponents can't cast spells during your turn, which protects a combo, a big attack or a game-ending sorcery from counterspells and instant-speed removal.
It also hits hard. The equipped creature gets +1/+1 for each color among permanents you control, so a three-color deck makes any creature three points bigger and a five-color deck makes it five. Equip costs just two, so moving it to a fresh body after removal is easy. Multicolor commanders, Equipment decks and anyone tired of having a key turn countered all have a reason to run it.
This is the Double Masters 2022 printing, collector number 302, illustrated by Franz Vohwinkel, offered here in non-foil. Double Masters 2022 brought the Flail back after its Commander 2016 debut, in the familiar original frame.
