Item Description
Every family has someone convinced they would have made a terrific circus performer. Circus Games calls that bluff. Developed by Kuju Entertainment, the UK studio Nintendo fans know from Battalion Wars, it gathers twenty short games inspired by the acts of the Big Top onto one disc, each built around a simple Wii Remote motion that anyone in the room can pick up in a few seconds.
The appeal lies in the variety and the pace. Rounds are quick, the instructions are explained on the spot, and the bright, cheerful presentation keeps the mood closer to a birthday party than a tournament. You can play alone and chase better results, but the game was designed for passing the remote around, with multiplayer and split-screen play letting the family take turns in the spotlight or go head to head for bragging rights.
Circus Games belongs to the wave of family compilations that filled Wii shelves in the late 2000s, when motion controls made grandparents and kids equally likely to grab a controller on a Saturday night. It is a modest, good-natured party game rather than a showpiece, and that is exactly its charm now: a snapshot of the Wii's living-room era, and a fun find for collectors rounding out the system's lesser-seen family titles.
