Every generation of the Pokémon TCG reinvents Charizard, and the Scarlet & Violet era did it by bringing back Pokémon ex: big, rule-box Pokémon that hit hard and give up extra Prize cards when they fall. Charizard was always going to headline that revival, and its ex cards quickly became the most recognizable faces of the era, at the table and in binders alike.

This is Charizard ex, promo 074 from the SV: Scarlet & Violet Promo Cards series, in foil. Black Star promos come from special products and events rather than regular booster packs, so they sit outside the main expansion lists and give Charizard collectors a distinct version to track down. With its Black Star promo numbering and foil finish, it is a sharp addition to a Scarlet & Violet promo binder or a Charizard run that stretches back to the earliest sets.
