For the specifics, look to the photos — they're of this exact item. Every cartridge's shell, label and board are checked for authenticity when it comes into the store, and it's tested before it's listed. It ships in a collector's bag or a hard plastic case.

Item Description

The lights of the Las Vegas Strip, the clack of chips and the long pause before the dealer flips a hole card: Caesars Palace tries to squeeze the atmosphere of the most famous casino on the Strip into a Sega Genesis cartridge. Published by Virgin and developed by Illusions Gaming Company, it carries the name of the Roman-themed resort that has been a Vegas landmark since the 1960s, and it leans into that glamour throughout.

The tables cover the casino staples, including blackjack, roulette, slot machines and video poker, so you can grind out a careful bankroll at the blackjack table, chase a big number on the roulette wheel or simply feed the slots and see what happens. The appeal is the push-your-luck tension of real casino games without a single real dollar at stake, and the fun of watching a modest stake either swell into a fortune or vanish in one reckless double down.

Casino games were a small but steady corner of the 16-bit libraries, and this one is a laid-back change of pace from the Genesis's platformers and shooters, the kind of cartridge you put on for a relaxed evening of cards and chips. It is also a fun piece of early-'90s licensing, when even a Las Vegas resort could get its own console game.

For Genesis collectors working through the console's quirkier corners, it is a colorful snapshot of how the era imagined adult leisure, wrapped in the marble-and-gold branding of Caesars Palace.

About the game

Super Caesars Palace is the upgraded sequel to the original Caesars Palace for the NES. This version features nine different games to choose from: Blackjack, Keno, Roulette, Scratchers, Horse Racing, Red Dog, Craps, Video Poker and Slot Machines, each with their own degree of difficulty and strategy. Once a player reaches a sufficient amount of funds, they can then go to the V.I.P. room and play more high stakes versions of these games to either win big or lose big. To add more realism, the player can also visit ATMs to draw more cash for playing in case they are running low on on-hand cash. It also has a password feature that will allow the player to pick up and continue their game at a later time.
