Item Description

Slivers are at their best when every new body makes the whole hive scarier, and Belligerent Sliver adds one of the most annoying keywords in combat. For three mana, this 2/2 gives every Sliver creature you control menace, itself included, so none of them can be blocked except by two or more creatures. Against a sparse board that is close to evasion for your whole team, and against a crowded one it forces opponents into awkward double blocks.

In a Sliver Commander deck, where the swarm quickly stacks up flying, first strike and power boosts, menace is the piece that turns a wide board into damage that actually connects. The original flavor text sums up the vibe: “The slivers became adept at provoking a fear response in other species.”

This is the Secret Lair Drop extended-art printing, collector number 636, a Secret Lair bonus card illustrated by Raymond Swanland, in foil. Swanland's moody, kinetic style suits a creature built to intimidate, and the extended frame gives his art room to breathe.
