Item Description

Beast Whisperer turns a stream of creature spells into a stream of new cards. Whenever you cast a creature spell, you draw a card, so every Elf, Beast or mana creature you play keeps your hand full. Because it triggers on cast, even a creature that gets countered still pays you off.

That simple engine is why it shows up in so many green Commander decks. Pair it with cheap creatures and cost reducers, and a single turn can draw three or four cards while building your board. Elves, Beasts, Dinosaurs and ramp strategies all love it, and its 2/3 body is solid enough to block an early attacker while it works. It debuted in Guilds of Ravnica, and this Secret Lair version gives the four-mana druid a fresh look.

This is the Secret Lair Drop printing, collector number 1099, a borderless foil illustrated by Omar Rayyan. Its new flavor text introduces a creature worth meeting: "Despite its ghastly appearance, the Ravnican murder budgie makes quite an erudite conversationalist."
