The photos are of this exact cartridge — look them over closely for its condition, packaging and details. Every cartridge's shell, label and board are checked for authenticity when it comes into the store, and it's tested before it's listed. It ships in a collector's bag or a hard plastic case.

Item Description

Few golf courses are as dramatic as Pebble Beach, where the fairways run right along the cliffs of California's Pacific coast, and Bandai Golf: Challenge Pebble Beach builds its entire personality around that drama. Developed by TOSE and published by Bandai, it recreates the famous 18 holes for the NES, complete with bunkers, sloping greens, water hazards and the ocean itself waiting to swallow a careless shot.

The game takes its golf seriously. You choose your club for every shot and control the power, the distance and whether the ball hooks or slices, while shifting winds, the course's signature challenge, can turn a perfect swing into a disaster. Overhead course maps help you read each hole, the green gets its own close-up for putting, and a scorecard tracks the yardage and par as your round unfolds, which makes head-to-head rounds with a friend a real test of nerve on the coastal holes.

Pebble Beach would go on to become a fixture of golf video games, including the Tiger Woods series, and this 1989 cartridge was an early chance to play it at home. It is a thoughtful, unhurried round of 8-bit golf for one or two players, and a way to take on the cliffside holes of Pebble Beach exactly as NES players first did.
