Item Description

What happens when the brawl moves off the table and into a whole conquered world? Bakugan: Defenders of the Core drops you into the Bakugan Battle Brawlers universe as your own brawler, flung to an alternate Earth when Bakugan Interspace malfunctions. In this version of the world, the Vexos won: the band of corrupt royals hunting for the Perfect Core now rules the planet, and the Resistance, including Mira, Baron and Ace, has been knocked out of the fight by a beam from the Vexos Crystal that broke their gauntlets. You are the one brawler it cannot stop.

Developed by Now Production for Activision, the game splits its time between two styles of play. On foot, stealthy stages ask you to gather materials while slipping past Vexos patrols, and getting spotted sends you back to the start. Then the Bakugan go giant and the action turns to real-time brawls in which you attack, block and counter rival Bakugan and smash Vexos artifacts. Items you find upgrade your Bakugan and their abilities, and an elemental system rewards matching the right creature to each opponent.

The story fills in an arc set during Bakugan Battle Brawlers: New Vestroia that the anime never showed, which gives fans of that season something new to discover. For anyone who grew up popping Bakugan open on the kitchen table, watching them tower over the battlefield on a PS3 is the fantasy the toys always promised.

About the game

The game follows a story arc from Bakugan Battle Brawlers: New Vestroia not followed in the Anime. When Bakugan Interspace has a malfunction, the player is sent to an alternate Earth. In this Earth, the Resistance lost to the Vexos. After that the Vexos took over Earth. The Resistance has been fighting the Vexos and they got hit with a beam used by the Vexos' newest creation, the Vexos Crystal, which breaks the Resistance's Gauntlets and leaves them unable to brawl. Due to the player not being affected by the beams, he decides to help the Resistance defeat the Vexos and also tries to find a way home. This is also your game character.
