Few songs have a grip on a household quite like “Baby Shark,” and Baby Shark: Sing & Swim Party turns that earworm into something kids can actually play. Developed by Recotechnology and published by Outright Games in 2023, it sends the Shark Family on a journey across the ocean to the Fin-tastic Festival, with a new undersea stop and a new song at every step of the way.

Every song is split into two halves. In the sing segments, button prompts arrive in rhythm and players press the matching face button in time, with hold notes, hidden notes and explosive urchins added later to keep little fingers honest. The swim segments switch to an endless-runner format: steer side to side, jump over hazards, scoop up stars and dodge pufferfish, with only a brief stun for a bump so the youngest players never feel punished. Thirty songs become sixty levels this way, and there are playful twists on the title tune, including opera, robot and pirate versions.

It is a family game at heart. Up to four players can join in on one console, so a parent can take Mommy or Daddy Shark while the kids lead the way, and there are five customizable characters, costumes to try on and musical cards to collect into an album. A quick-play option lets favorite songs be replayed outside the story whenever someone asks for “just one more.”

Pinkfong’s original video became the most-watched clip in YouTube history, so chances are the music is already playing in your house on a loop. This gives all that singing along somewhere to go: a bright, gentle first rhythm game on the Xbox Series X that a toddler and a grown-up can share on the couch.
