Item Description

Ezio Auditore is older now, grey in the beard and weary of war, and Assassin's Creed: Revelations never lets you forget it. The final chapter of Ezio's trilogy sends him in 1511 to Masyaf, the ancient fortress of the Assassins, and then on to Constantinople in search of five keys that open a library sealed by Altaïr centuries before. It is a game about legacy and endings, and that gives it a reflective, bittersweet tone unlike any other entry in the series.

Ubisoft Montreal kept the structure that worked in Brotherhood and handed Ezio new tools. The hookblade lets him catch ledges that were out of reach, swing around corners and race down the city's ziplines, and bomb crafting adds a whole layer of tactics to stealth, combining shells, powders and payloads into anything from lethal shrapnel to smoke screens and decoys that pull guards away from their posts. Assassin dens can come under Templar attack, triggering a rooftop tower-defense battle, and Ezio's recruits still answer a whistle anywhere in the city.

Constantinople is the draw. The Hagia Sophia, the Grand Bazaar and the crowded districts around the Galata waterfront make it a world apart from Florence and Rome, and the journey even takes Ezio beneath the earth to the underground city of Cappadocia. Each recovered key unlocks a memory of Altaïr, letting you play pieces of his life from his prime to old age and closing the loop on the first game's hero. Ezio's friendship with Yusuf Tazim, the quick-witted leader of the city's Assassins, and his gentle romance with the bookseller Sofia Sartor give the story its warmth, while Desmond's Journey sequences turn the modern-day thread into first-person puzzle levels built from fragments of his memory. Jesper Kyd and Lorne Balfe share the score.

Revelations is where both of the series' great early heroes take their final bows, which gives it a weight the other games cannot match. If you followed Ezio from his reckless youth in Florence through the Borgia war in Rome, this is the farewell, and the Xbox 360 is the place to play it the way it first arrived.

Assassin's Creed Revelations is a third-person action-adventure stealth game set primarily in Constantinople during the rise of the Ottoman Empire. Players control an aging Ezio Auditore as he searches for five keys to unlock a library built by Altair, while also playing brief flashback sequences as Altair and first-person platforming sections as Desmond Miles. Gameplay retains the series' mix of combat, climbing, and stealth, adding a hookblade for faster traversal and zipline access, a bomb crafting system, and a tower defense minigame. The multiplayer mode from Brotherhood returns with expanded maps, characters, and modes.
