Our grade: Near Mint. Pictured: this printing of the card. Every card ships triple-sleeved — a soft sleeve, a deck sleeve and a rigid top loader.
Falling behind on lands is a miserable feeling in Commander, and Archaeomancer's Map is built to fix it. For three mana it immediately fetches up to two basic Plains from your library into your hand, guaranteeing your next land drops. Then it keeps working: whenever a land enters under an opponent's control, if that player controls more lands than you, you may put a land card from your hand onto the battlefield.
In a four-player game someone is almost always ahead on lands, so the Map regularly hands you free land drops on other players' turns. That is a big deal for white, the color that has historically had the least ramp, and it slots neatly into landfall decks that want extra land triggers. The two Plains it grabs make sure you have ammunition ready when the catch-up triggers start.
This is the Commander 2021 printing, collector number 12, illustrated by Ovidio Cartagena, in non-foil. It debuted in the Lorehold Legacies preconstructed deck from the Strixhaven-themed Commander 2021 line, where its archaeology flavor fit the Lorehold college's fascination with history.
