Item Description

A hexproof commander is a special kind of frustrating: a Voltron player suits up an untargetable creature and dares the table to find an answer. Arcane Lighthouse is that answer, hiding in your land slot. For one mana and a tap, creatures your opponents control lose hexproof and shroud until end of turn and can't gain them back, opening the door for your removal, steal effects and targeted tricks.

The rest of the time it simply taps for colorless mana, so it costs almost nothing to include. Activate it at the right moment, then follow up with the Swords to Plowshares, Path to Exile or Chaos Warp you have been holding. Because it is a land, it dodges counterspells and sits quietly until the turn it matters, and decks of any color can run it.

This is the Commander 2014 printing, collector number 59, illustrated by Igor Kieryluk, in non-foil. Commander 2014 was the card's debut, and it gives every deck a clean, colorless way to shine a light on whatever is hiding in plain sight.
