Item Description

Lard Vader is waiting at the far end of the slingshot. Angry Birds Star Wars takes Rovio's physics-destruction formula and stages it across the original trilogy, with the birds as the Rebel heroes and the pigs as the Empire: Red becomes a lightsaber-swinging Luke Skywalker, Chuck turns into a blaster-firing Han Solo, Terence lumbers in as Chewbacca, and helmeted stormtrooper pigs hide behind walls of stone, wood and Imperial steel.

The Star Wars powers change how each puzzle is solved. Luke's lightsaber carves through structures in mid-flight, Han fires off blaster shots before he lands, and Obi-Wan's Force push shoves whole towers over from a distance. The Death Star stages borrow the gravity fields of Angry Birds Space, so your shots arc around planets and debris instead of falling in a straight line, and the journey runs from the deserts of Tatooine to the snows of Hoth and the Pig Star itself.

The PS Vita version is part of the 2013 console edition, which gathered more than 200 levels and added 20 stages made specifically for the console releases. You can aim with the touchscreen or the analog sticks, and chasing three-star scores on every stage gives completionists plenty to replay. It is a light, quick-hit crossover that plays best in exactly the five-minute bursts a handheld is made for, and seeing pigs in Imperial armor flattened by a lightsaber-swinging bird is a gag that lands every time.
