Our grade: Near Mint. Pictured: this printing of the card. Every card ships triple-sleeved — a soft sleeve, a deck sleeve and a rigid top loader.
Item Description
Artifact lands first appeared in Mirrodin, the 2003 expansion that brought the modern card frame to Magic's expansions, so Ancient Den was born in the new look. Time Spiral Remastered rewrites that history: this is its retro-frame timeshifted printing, collector number 403, illustrated by Rob Alexander, in non-foil, and seeing a Mirrodin land dressed in the old-school frame is a fun bit of alternate history.
Functionally it taps for one white mana, but it is also an artifact, and that double identity is the whole point. Affinity and metalcraft count it, artifact-themed commanders see it, and anything that cares about lands still treats it as one, so a white artifact deck gets an extra artifact without giving up a land slot. The flip side is that artifact removal can hit it too, which adds a layer of risk and reward to every deck that runs it.
Rob Alexander, among Magic's most recognizable land painters, illustrated it, and the flavor text names the place: "Taj-Nar, throne of Raksha Golden Cub, destined leader of the leonin prides."
