Item Description

Innistrad's eeriest land gets a fittingly spooky makeover in this Secret Lair edition. Alchemist's Refuge comes from the Showcase: Midnight Hunt drop, which gave Innistrad-themed cards the showcase styling of Innistrad: Midnight Hunt, with artwork by DZO for this hidden refuge of Kessig alchemists.

The card is a quiet powerhouse for green-blue decks. It taps for colorless mana on its own, or you can pay one green and one blue mana and tap it so that you may cast spells this turn as though they had flash. Use it on an opponent's turn to flash in creatures at their end step, ambush an attacker with a surprise blocker, or resolve a sorcery when nobody expects it. Simic Commander players who like keeping countermagic open will appreciate never wasting that mana again.

This is the Secret Lair Drop printing, collector number 358, illustrated by DZO, offered here in foil. As a land, it slips into any blue-green deck without costing a spell slot, which makes it an easy way to add a showcase-frame centerpiece to your mana base.
