Complete in box: the cartridge, the manual and the box, all original; anything beyond that is included only if you can see it in the photos. Look over the photos for condition, packaging and details. Every cartridge's shell, label and board are checked for authenticity when it comes into the store, and it's tested before it's listed. It ships in a collector's bag or a hard plastic case.

Item Description

Aladdin never draws a sword in this game, and that small decision tells you everything about Capcom's approach. Where the Sega Genesis version leaned on swordplay and Disney's own animators, the Super Nintendo Aladdin, developed by Capcom in 1993 with future Resident Evil director Shinji Mikami among its designers, is a pure platformer built around movement: vaulting off enemies, swinging from poles and ropes, and lobbing apples at Agrabah's palace guards.

The stages follow the film closely. Aladdin outruns the guards through the marketplace and over the rooftops of Agrabah, descends into the Cave of Wonders, and makes a frantic escape on the Magic Carpet as the cave collapses behind him. Then the game does something few action games of the era would have dared: a gentle carpet ride with Jasmine set to A Whole New World, all drifting clouds and starlit skies. A trip inside the Genie's lamp turns into a surreal playground, and the adventure ends at the palace with a showdown against Jafar.

The production is gorgeous for 1993. Large, expressive sprites, layered backgrounds and arrangements of Alan Menken's film score make every stage feel like part of the movie, and Abu and the Genie keep popping up to add personality. The controls are crisp in the Capcom way, and gem collecting and tucked-away secrets give you something to master rather than just finish.

It is not a long game, and it was never meant to be. It is a tightly paced trip through the film that you can finish in an evening and come back to for years. The playground argument between the SNES and Genesis versions never really ended, and this is the case for precision over spectacle: the Aladdin for players who love platforming craft, made by a Capcom team on the verge of changing the industry.
