Item Description
When the creator of Stardew Valley illustrates a card about turning one harvest into three, it is hard not to smile. Academy Manufactor is a three-mana 1/3 artifact creature with one line of text: if you would create a Clue, Food or Treasure token, you create one of each instead. Food, coins and secrets piling up on the farm is a fitting picture of what this card does to a Commander game.
That replacement effect is what makes it a Commander favorite. Smothering Tithe gives you a Treasure, a Clue and a Food every time an opponent draws without paying, any investigate card now ramps and gains life too, and Food payoffs get mana to spare. It is the centerpiece of Treasure, Food and Clue decks alike, and artifact-count payoffs love how quickly it fills the board. Originally from Modern Horizons 2, it is a small creature that can make a game spiral in your favor fast.
This is the Secret Lair Drop printing, collector number 7188, a borderless foil illustrated by ConcernedApe, released as a Secret Lair bonus card.
