Fourteen rounds and not a single loss. Liao Fu Guan of China went 11-0-3 on the way to the Senior Division title at the 2025 Pokémon World Championships in Anaheim, and this is the list that carried him there, reproduced card for card.
Players nicknamed it Joltdengo, and the name tells you how it works. Joltik, a tiny Bug-type that looks like it belongs in a binder rather than a championship deck, loads Energy onto the board straight from the deck. Gholdengo ex then cashes that Energy in with Make It Rain, discarding Basic Energy from hand for 50 damage apiece. The result is a deck that can scale each attack to exactly what it needs to knock out, which is the kind of flexibility that survives a long championship weekend.
World Championship Decks reprint the winning lists with special card backs, so they are not legal for sanctioned tournaments. That is part of their charm: you can shuffle up a world champion's sixty and play it against friends, study the counts, and see which tech cards earned their slots. Lined up with the other 2025 decks, Riley McKay's Gardevoir from Masters and Okita's Raging Bolt from Juniors, it completes the story of Anaheim, with Liao's Joltik-and-Gholdengo build holding the middle division.
